In 2023, I was commissioned to illustrate scenes for the short film "We Dare Not Fail: The Story of the Tuskegee Airmen," which is preserved as part of the National Archives at the Library of Congress. It was also a finalist in the SOHO International Film Festival.
As an immigrant and a proud Black man, the opportunity to help tell a story of persistence, courage, and struggle is one that holds deep personal meaning for me. Presented here are selected illustration stills created for the film—some of which appear in the final cut, and others that did not. I am proud of all of them and of my contribution to this important historical narrative.
